Plastics are widely available around the world and cause many severe environmental consequences due to the resistance to biodegradation.However,plastic pollution will be further aggravated with the rapid population and urbanization.The government can help decrease plastic production by educating the public and promoting efficient policies.

Plastics have deleterious effects on the ecosystem and human health.It is known that plastic is nonbiodegradable and pollute the environment for a long period of time,causing soil erosion and entangling marine animals.A number of birds and fish suffocate to death because of consuming plastic debris blocking their digestive tract.Besides,scientists reveal striking evidence that the application and exposure to plastics could cause cancers and other serious diseases.When plastics enter the human food chain,the released toxic pollutants and chemicals can accumulate up in our body through ingestion.

Thus,the governments and colossal organizations need to interfere in the fight against plastic pollution.One possible solution lies in raising public awareness and altering consumer behaviour.This can be illustrated by replacing plastic bags with reusable ones,which will lead to more actions on other unnecessary plastic products in the future.Another sustainable solution to tackle this problem would be to put taxes on plastic packaging and implement tough legislative proposals on recycling.As a result,the manufactures would take back the plastic and reuse it in a circular,posing less threat to the environment.

In conclusion,with the growing concern about the negative impacts of plastics on the environment and human health,people should carefully dispose of their plastic waste.Meanwhile,the government should adopt responding policies to reduce the negative impacts of plastic pollution.
